HAVE THE MOST WONDERFUL WEEKEND LOVELIES
So our London fling has come to an end. As I strolled through town this week, it all suddenly became very emotional. The Christmas Teddybears in the tacky card shop seemed to be smiling even sweeter, the sequined tops displayed in fashionable shop windows shone a little brighter and the music store… Something about rap music always gets me when I’m feeling a little emotional. Oh, London, dear friend, how I have enjoyed our brief fling this past year.

Our week has been focused around packing. And more trips to charity shops. And packing. And trips to the dump. And packing. And one superb send-off party! And then our flight and first few nights in Our new home.

Next week? I’ll be back with news of our new adventures in Dubai..! /Camilla

Oslo crew has been laying low this week too. Say what? Two weeks running? Deadlines at work creeping nearer every day, requiring long evenings doing Powerpoint magic. This weekend however, we intend to enjoy every minute of our very special visitor from NYC!

TO SLEEP OR NOT TO SLEEP?

I found this quote the other day, by Helen Thomson;

“The plan is parents in bed and baby in crib.
Baby smiles.
Baby knows better.
Baby has plans.”

We welcomed a new little treasure into our family, and into our hearts, last week. A tiny little being who had our eyes filling up with tears, and our arms warmed by his cozy little body. Ahhh, the smell of newborn, of new life. Simply amazing.

And while my sister in law embarks on this new adventure in her life, ready to embrace the sleepless nights, I am ever so, very, incredibly, utmost grateful to Sienna who slept through the night THREE times this week. I kid you not. She is a star. A little legend. I’m talking 7pm – 5.30 am, and where I come from that is counted as pretty legendary. But shhhhh, do not, I repeat DO NOT, tell her, as she might decide to never ever do it again.

Our big girl turned 7 this week. And a week full of celebrations started. Throw in a random neighbor dog, and constant (every hour of the day..) begging, singing, praying for us to get our own dog, an over-energetic mother who literally can feel her brain cells finally working on high-speed again, this has been a good week.

Have a beautiful, blissful, bouncy weekend everyone.

As always on a Friday, from both of us, to ALL of you; Have a good one! xoxo

COUNTDOWN

With the London 2012 Olympics only 1 day from starting, its time to get into the groove of things. I know that some Londoners are becoming increasingly concerned if they should be excited about the forthcoming event or not.

Get over it. Have fun. Go out and enjoy yourself! Its a once in a lifetime sporting event, held in LONDON. Sure, “nobody” has tickets, and everyone without tickets have been pre-warned to stay well away from the city. And I understand that the security risks surrounding the games are pretty scary, and must be taken seriously. And traffic will be a nightmare. And yes I admit, I would reconsider taking the kids on the tube next week. If I was in London. And I am not.

I am back in Norway, enjoying even more rain. Planning the party we would have had if we were in London. This is my point really. Even if you´re not there LIVE, doesn´t mean you should shy away from the fun and the celebrations. Go get yourself some new festive Union Jack wellies (as it will rain, we all know that…), and drink some champagne (pure crazy, I know!). Before you know it, its all over anyway.

BUGS BEGONE
This week we packed in loads of fun activities. However towards the middle of the week our activity plan came to an abrupt stop (sigh!).

While we are “stuck at home” with a very nasty bug (ewww…) doing its rounds, we hope you all have a great weekend whatever you’re up to. Stay well! (and stay well away from us as we are venturing out to London today (crazy.com) ~ Lion King, parks, Wagamama….. Jeeeejjj! Bugs-be-gone!).

***WARNING!*** THIS POST CONTAINS PINK. A LOT OF IT!!!

I have read several articles in the media recently about parent bloggers – or so called “pink bloggers” who portray their lives as one big pink bubble of perfection, with not a spot of dust on the floor, beautiful cupcakes at the ready, immaculate children.. You know the type, everything looks perfect.

These bloggers have received a lot of criticism, for choosing to portray, in some people’s opinion, a false picture of what real life actually looks like, and by doing so somewhat exploiting their children. And sure, I tend to agree, life is not just about pretty cupcakes and the latest high end interiors. But would you really want to read about my never ending, overflowing laundry basket? Come on let’s be honest (even though it is a pretty darn good IKEA laundry basket), wouldn’t we all much rather enjoy an oh so yummy little cupcake, preferably neatly wrapped up in a sweet little wrapper with delicious pink icing on top…

Too cute for you? Not real life enough?

Well this – this is real life. And I’m about to go extremely pink on you. So I’d advice you to look away now, if pink is not your thing. I’m serious, look no further. It’s gonna get extremely pink, and there’s a high possibility of it getting pretty mushy too. 20120717-002856.jpg

Can you blame me though? I mean…come on, check her out, she is a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

A beautiful, chubby, pink, little bundle of joy, going for gold in the cuteness factor (she could also win a squishy thighs competition hands down – such a legend!) and this weekend we celebrated her.

A very special day, for our very special girl. There were sparkly shoes, pretty dresses, flowery little purses, pink balloons and bunting, sweet little bunches of flowers, scrumptious food, an impressive cream tea – and pink little cupcakes. Not to mention Sienna’s very handsome coordinated men; A big brother in a pink shirt, Grandfathers with pink ties and shirts, and Daddy himself sporting a pink tie AND pink boxers!

Enjoy!

And this… Cracked us up no end. Get it? hahaaa.

20120713-082124.jpg

So Louisa and co have gone off to spend a couple of days with other family and friends in the UK, before they are back with us next week. And while I am pleased to have a clean floor again, toys almost back in the correct boxes, laundry done-ish, a few to-do’s crossed off my list and babies fast asleep upstairs, I think they should totally ditch their other plans and come back to ours straight away. Guys, Aunty Milly is done with her alone time, I am done recharging, you can come back now. Clean kitchen floor is bor—-ing. Bring back the chaos, bring back the noise, bring back the toys all over.

I LOVE IT.
