HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND
By the time you read this, I guess most people will have already started their weekend. In Dubai, our weekend is almost over, it’s back to school and work tomorrow. So, I guess it would be fair to say this post is a little late… but still, we hope you are right in the midst of enjoying the most lovely weekend, whether you’re just getting started, or slowly wrapping it up and getting ready for the week ahead.
It is with good reason we’re late. You see, this week, despite all it’s ups, sent me spiralling downwards. A mix of feeling overwhelmed by too many To Do lists, too many goals, worrying about people close to me who I care very, very much about, and just a humungous lack of motivation and encouragement for self.
Those of you who have followed our blog for a while know that I struggle with self doubt and feeling like I’m just not good enough. Sometimes it’s not even about feeling not good enough, but just feeling like you, yourself, are enough. I know that a lot of people struggle with similar thoughts and feelings.
A combination of this, and an A/C induced cough, meant we stayed at home all day yesterday. Which, if I’m honest, I don’t really mind once in a while. But it does mean, that by day two of the weekend, we are itching to GET OUT. We’re craving a change of scenery, we’re craving time away from phones, screens and air con units. After breakfast this morning, we threw some towels and watermelon slices into a bag, jumped into our swim suits, and headed for the beach.
And it was just what we needed.
My face feels crusty from the salty sea water, the kids look sunkissed and sandy, and Hakuna Matata’s playing in the background while I write this. Onwards, and if not upwards, then still onwards with the rest of the weekend and a blank, new, and busy week ahead.

Would love these encouraging glasses.
Beautiful shade of blue.
Something about this time of year makes us want to make soup.
