THROUGH THE LENSE OF A 5 YEAR OLD

QUIETLY CAPTURING LIFE

IMG_1134I find these photos most entertaining, as they are unprompted, un-edited and randomly selected. And it’s just how she saw it. 30 minutes, to be precise, of our recent Saturday morning.

EM2PicMonkey CollageHer more quiet self, observing, concentrating, wondering, accepting, of her loud family’s not rare high-volumed un-coordinated, Gangnam Style dance ritual. Or the weekend tradition of pancakes, toast and crazy messy table tops and counters. Close up of her sisters scruffy morning hair. Our furniture and decorative bits & bobs (she took 28 photos of our burn-marked coffee table. A confession perhaps?). Her own art. The rare occurrence of greenery on the dining table. A juice carton. Oh, and not to forget; the green stain on my left boob (…guacamole).

EM3PicMonkey CollageI’m quite impressed to be honest. This girl has an eye for details. And how she managed to get so many photos in focus with this tricky whatnot lens, beats me. EM1PicMonkey Collage

    • I was sort of a bit amazed too! Funny what they get up to when you’re not looking :-)

    • Wish i could take the credit, but unfortunately not. Will pass on the compliment though. Although she gets terribly embarrassed about compliments in general :-)

  1. I love them! You have some serious competition there with the photography skills!! They are amazingly clear. My favourites are the first two, the bed head hair and the dancing (with Daddy?). Beautiful!! (And I am LOVING those spotty pyjamas!)

    • Good thing I have about 10 of each shot! hahah! some serious focus going on there for sure!
Spotty pyjamas: H&M! Guacamole spotted pyjamas: M&S :-)

      • might have to see if they do the spotty ones in our H&M. Seriously cute – I love spots (on clothes!)

Beautiful! I love seeing what photographs kids come up with when you give them the camera. I agree, I can’t believe how many are in focus! She’s good!

  3. She did great! Love to see what they “focus” on. what things they find interesting.. they have no rules just shoot away.

  4. Wonderful. You’re right, she’s got quite an eye for detail–and composition too.
