MACARON MONDAY

HOMEMADE OR BOUGHT?

Did you have a good week? I’m catching my breath at how quickly this month is flying by. But we have been packing in lots of fun, and I am well on my way of getting to the bottom of my “Summer Checklist” of things I wanted to do, see, make, smell & achieve.

Have you ever taken the leap in making home-made macarons? Or do you just buy them like me? I guess I should try making them (or not…) as they are Isabella’s absolute favorite treat. That and olives (she’s the olive connoisseur in our household. Weird, yet quite cool). I admit, the cheerful rainbow colors, the two-bite size, crisp-chewy texture are in fact addictive!

We have a very special 7th Birthday to celebrate this week, and I know I would be rated a *Star Mom* if I turned up with these on the day (or just buy them and pretend I made them?). Will reveal how this project goes. Mind you, only if the homemade version is a success. As we are, after all, self-proclaimed (?) Pink Bloggers, where only “perfection” (?!) is portrayed! (oh, the debate on this topic online has been fierce these last few weeks. Jeez, relax people!)

Now go have yourself a good Monday. I am onto my third coffee, and still counting. One of those mornings you know……zzz.

… and here is a bit of useless information for you: Macarons and Maracaroons are not the same thing. MacarOns are “characterised by the dome-shaped buscuit made of egg whites and almond meal” Whereas MacarOOns are “a small merengue cake, typically made of coconut and often dipped in chocolate”.

  1. Ha ha. Good luck with the baking.
Can’t wait to hear about it :-)
Hopefully you’ll do just fine. But it’s good to hear that you have a backup plan.

  3. Super cool blog. So glad I stopped by here. When you have the time, do drop by my space, I just made a vegetarian ‘steak’ and would love to hear what you think :)
